It will be divided into 3 parts:

  1. Where are you now?

  2. What are the materials you use?

  3. Areas for exploration?

  1. Where are you now?

What would you like to achieve? + Course + Name

Ashton from MA Fine Art Digital 2nd year, taken 2 gap years so with the time out hoping to jump back into reflective writing  a bit better

What is bothering you about your practice at the moment?

I guess lack of writing/reading around it at the moment, started the year having just had a surgery so my first few weeks nothing really got done and feel like still playing catch up on the writing around practical work, and it not feeling rushed and that I am pushing myself on the reflective side. Completely changed direction from first year and bothered not documenting enough

There is time and support, you have a good reason for playing catch-up

What materials and processes do you use in your practice?

With COVID hitting half-way through undergrad went from physical work to digital but wanting to go back to physical work more

  • Life-size human Sellotape sculptures

  • Digital rotoscope animation

  • Digital line works

  • Sellotape

  • Cotton

  • Rope

  • Thread

  • Paper

  • Coloured duct tape

  1. What are the materials and processes that you feel you want to focus on?

Highlight 3-5

  1. Areas for exploration?

What can you do with them to explore further that you haven’t yet?

Combine my beige/neutral Sellotape sculptures with my digital brightly coloured line works

What can you add to what you are doing/using?

(Wherever it may come from – make a list without limiting yourself)

  • Top surgery

  • Binding

  • My journey

  • Other people’s journeys

  • Surgeons’ journeys

  • NHS pathway

Highlight 3-5 (at the most) that you would like to commit to exploring

Have you already considered how these factors could inform your practice? PESTLE analysis

  • Political

  • Economic

  • Social

  • Technology

  • Legal

  • Environmental

What else can you do creatively (or not) outside your practice?

Engaging with other people also on the same transition journey and their experiences with the NHS care pathway and how it is similar/differs from my own journey
